How can I automate my Airbnb review responses?

By HostPal Editorial TeamUpdated Jul 14, 2026

Reply to every review, keep it short and specific, and don't leave it at a generic thank-you, because the response isn't really for the guest who wrote it. It's for the next guest reading down your page and deciding whether you're the kind of host they want. Airbnb and Google both notice an active, engaged listing, too.

Doing it fast without it becoming a chore comes down to a few reusable openers you then personalise. Have a version for a glowing review, one for a solid-but-not-gushing one, and one for genuine criticism, then always drop in the guest's name and a line about something they actually mentioned so it doesn't read as a form letter.

For a five-star:

"Thank you so much, {name}! We're thrilled you enjoyed {specific_thing}. You're welcome back anytime!"

For a critical one:

"Thank you for your feedback, {name}. We've noted your comment about {issue} and are making improvements. We'd love to welcome you back for an even better experience."

AI can draft these for you from the review text, which takes most of the typing out of it, but read every one before it posts. Tone is exactly the thing a model occasionally misjudges, and a public reply that lands wrong does more damage than a slow one. The two rules that matter: never paste the identical response under every review (guests and Airbnb both clock it), and never argue with a bad review in public. Your calm, brief reply to a harsh review reassures the next reader far more than winning the argument ever would.
