What's the best Airbnb check-in message to send guests?

By HostPal Editorial TeamUpdated Jul 14, 2026

Send it a day or two before arrival, keep it short, and make sure it front-loads the four things a guest actually needs to get in the door: when they can arrive, how they get in, the WiFi, and where to park. A good check-in message is really just those, plus your name on it so it feels like a person wrote it.

Here's the skeleton I use:

Hi {name}! We're excited to welcome you to {property}!

Check-in: {date} from 3:00 PM Check-out: {checkout_date} by 11:00 AM

Getting in: {access_method} — Code: {code} WiFi: {network} / Password: {password} Parking: {parking_info}

The full house guide is inside on the kitchen counter. Don't hesitate to message if you need anything!

Safe travels!

Two things make it work better. Send a second, stripped-down message on the morning of arrival with just the door code, because guests scroll past the earlier one and then message you at the door asking for it. And if your entrance is at all confusing (a side gate, a lockbox behind a plant, a building that looks like the one next to it), attach a photo. It kills the single most common check-in question.

What to skip: a wall of text, and every house rule you own. The arrival message is for getting them inside comfortably. Save the quiet-hours-and-no-parties detail for the house guide, and don't ask for a review here, they haven't stayed yet.
