How do I get Airbnb Superhost status?

By HostPal Editorial TeamUpdated Jul 14, 2026

Superhost is Airbnb's badge for hosts who clear four bars over the trailing year, and it's worth having, since it lifts your search placement and reassures guests who don't know you yet. Airbnb reassesses it quarterly, so it's a status you keep earning, not a one-time award.

The four requirements are a 90% or better response rate (reply to inquiries within 24 hours), a 4.8+ overall rating, essentially zero cancellations, and at least 10 completed stays in the year (or 3 stays totalling 100+ nights). Three of those are about consistency; only the rating really tests the quality of the stay.

Response rate is the easiest to fix and the one people needlessly lose. Turn on push and email notifications so nothing sits unseen, and remember that even a quick "got your message, I'll get you a proper answer shortly" counts. A concierge that replies around the clock keeps this from ever being your problem. Cancellations are almost as mechanical: block dates you can't host rather than accepting and backing out, and keep a co-host or local contact for the emergencies, since a host-side cancellation is the fastest way to lose the badge.

Rating is the one you actually have to earn. Cleanliness drives it more than anything, so pay for good cleaning and don't skimp. Make sure the photos match reality, because the disappointed guest who expected more is your most common four-star. And a smooth check-in plus fast, friendly communication carry real weight, which is the part good messaging genuinely helps with. Completed stays mostly take care of themselves if you're bookable: accept shorter stays, keep Instant Book on, and stay competitive on price through the quiet stretches.
